Summer Vacation Security Tips

Summertime is perfect for vacations, but it also gets a spike in residential burglaries. To keep your home safe while you’re away, consider the following tips:

  1. Install Light Timers: Set up light timers inside your home to create the illusion that someone is home. This can deter potential burglars.
  2. Use Motion Lights and Nighttime Landscape Lighting: Exterior lighting that activates upon motion detection or stays on during the night can discourage criminals from targeting your home.
  3. Vacation Watch with Harris County Sheriff’s Office: Arrange for the Sheriff’s office to monitor your home while you’re away. They can keep an eye out for any suspicious activity, providing you with peace of mind.
