Why Conserve - Learn to be Smarter About Water

Wasting water not only affects individual households and their budgets, but also puts a strain on our natural and infrastructure resources.

According to our region’s 2022 Region H Plan created by the Texas Water Development Board, the population in the fifteen-county area covered by the plan is projected to grow from approximately 7.3 million in 2020 to approximately 11.7 million in 2070. The potential water needs for our region could be more than 788 million gallons daily—we would have to fill Lake Houston more than five times in a single year to have this much water!
