HCSO Holiday Safety Tips and Vacation Watch

As part of their contract with Ricewood MUD, Harris County Sheriff’s Department deputies will be conducting proactive patrols of neighborhoods throughout this holiday season. Let them know if their attention is needed for a specific area or problem. Please see below the safety tips they suggest for all residents of Ricewood MUD:

  • Be sure to use the door locks on your home and vehicles
  • Remove valuables from plain sight, especially in your vehicles
  • Lighted areas are very helpful in deterring criminal activity
  • Try not to go out alone at night
  • Be sure to remove packages from the front porch areas as soon as possible
  • Do not share your personal or financial information with unknown individuals
  • Let the deputies know if their attention is needed to a specific area or problem; If You See Something, Say Something.

A Vacation Watch is a service provided by the Harris County Sheriff’s Office for citizens residing in the unincorporated areas of Harris County. Citizens may request a Vacation Watch by clicking here and completing the online form.
