Winter Weather Advisory:
The National Weather Service (NWS) has put southeast Texas in a winter weather advisory from 6 PM tonight through 6 PM Monday; freezing rain, freezing drizzle, and sleet are expected. Accumulations will vary from a glaze to up to one-tenth of an inch of ice possible. The wintry precipitation can lead to slick and icy spots, especially on overpasses and bridges, so drive with caution; sidewalks can also get rather slippery, so walk with caution!
Monday morning will see the weather turn colder with temperatures across southeast Texas in the 20s and 30s. The cold temperatures also come with the threat of freezing rain and sleet, mainly north of Harris County; if temperatures remain in the mid- and upper-30s, we’ll get a cold rain, and if they cool below freezing, it would create dangerous conditions on trails and roads.
Currently, weather models show some relief from the freezing temperatures on Wednesday and Thursday, with another cold front potentially swinging through again on Friday and Saturday.
